LATEST ENDORSEMENT!!! Jeff's campaign has been endorsed by three time American Royal champion and 2007 KCBS Team of the Year Mike Davis, pitmaster of Lotta Bull BBQ! Thank you, Mike! UPDATE! My interview with Greg Rempe on "BBQ Central" Internet Talk Radio program should be available on the archive page soon. The BBQ Central Archives are HERE. In the meantime, you can download the interview by clicking here. Greg's MP3 version is crisp and sounds great! Jeff's campaign has been endorsed by Rod Gray, pitmaster of the 2009 KCBS Team of the Year Pellet Envy and Todd Johns, pitmaster of the 2009 American Royal Invitational Grand Champion Pork Pullin' Plowboys! NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL KCBS MEMBERS: It was just brought to my attention that some folks outside of the United States have been having some trouble using the form on this site to request to receive my weekly emails. I sincerely apologize! I grabbed this code from a free online service and have no idea why it won't work. However, if you email me directly (my email is on my contacts page), I will be happy to add you and forward you my most recent email newsletter. NEW!!! If you have missed any of my weekly email updates, you can now read them all in PDF format by clicking on the "News and Announcements" button below! Just another way I am proving that communication is important to me! Thank you for visiting my campaign Web site to find out more about me! I appreciate your interest! Over the past several months, I've listened to many folks around the KCBS barbeque circuit voice their concerns over the state of the organization we all love. These comments range from "yes, we have a few problems" and "sure, there are some big issues but it could be worse" to "this organization is a huge mess". Like most situations where a lot of people have opinions, the truth probably lies somewhere in between. Regardless, there are always ways to make things better. With my nomination to run for the KCBS Board of Directors and my acceptance, I have taken the first step towards that position with a clear goal: to do my part to make a difference. Fellow KCBS members are concerned over a variety of issues effecting the organization today. One of the most common concerns is a belief that we, as cooks, are not being represented or heard... that no one on the Board really has the best interests of cooks in mind when the decisions they make are proposed and passed. The KCBS Board of Directors will face a lot of tough challenges in the coming years. We need leaders who understand the issues faced by those of us putting in the time, energy, sweat and money at contests all across the United States every weekend. The commitment I make to each and every one of you is that if I am elected, I will work for YOU. I will be a constant advocate for KCBS cooks. You will not see my name as a committee chairman listed in Board meeting minutes as having "no report". I will be accessible and visible. I will ask questions and more importantly listen to your answers. Likewise, I will listen to your questions and find answers. My campaign to serve you on the KCBS Board of Directors started at a contest in my home county. It was announced at this contest surrounded by many very good friends. We were gathered together for a potluck dinner like many teams do each week. The main purpose was and always is to enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of our barbeque friends. This was a perfect example of why we all REALLY do what we do and a reminder of why Gary Wells started the KCBS in the first place - it's supposed to be about having fun. I hope you will look over my site, ask questions if you need to and I hope you will support me in January, 2010! If you would like to receive Jeff's weekly email update during the campaign, please fill out this form and submit. There will be no further emails sent after January 18, 2010 and your address will NOT be shared with anyone else. If Jeff is elected to the KCBS Board of Directors, he will provide a Web site as well where you can sign up again for monthly updates if you so desire. | ||||
