Candidacy Announcement August 21, 2009 Harrisonville, Mo. - During a potluck dinner with nearly 50 people attending, Stephanie Wilson made the announcement that she has informally contacted the KCBS office to advise them that on October 1, 2009 (the date that official nominations will begin being accepted), she will nominate Jeff Stith for candidacy for the Kansas City Barbeque Society Board of Directors. Upon Stephanie's announcement, there was immediate applause and some great, positive comments in support of Jeff. Jeff spoke a few words before dinner, stating that he understands the frustrations of cooks who do not feel they have representation on the Board of Directors and that he was committing to being that voice for all cooks. He further stated that he will be accessible and listen to the cooks, keeping their concerns ever-present in his mind. He also promised that one of his goals will be to end the fighting and bring harmony and respect for one another back to the organization. Within hours of the announcement, there were many supportive comments made via the Internet on forums and public social networks such as Facebook.
